Festival Overview

Clackmannanshire’s Whisky Festival is delivered through a unique three-strand focus on Whisky, Heritage, and Wellbeing.

Our whisky strand celebrates Scotland’s national drink and the variety of flavours from the distinct producing regions, explored with the help of more than 30 exhibitors from across the country.

Clackmannanshire has a very unique and extremely interesting history of whisky production. Our heritage strand tells a story of a journey that started in 1720s with the founding of Kennetpans Distillery by the highly-regarded Stein family. Nearby Alloa, the location of the festival venue, is also the town of birth of industry-giant John Jameson, founder of the world’s best-selling Irish whiskey brand, Jameson. His final resting place is less than a 10-minute walk from Alloa Town Hall, the festival venue (view directions). More recently, Carsebridge and Cambus distilleries were leading producers of single grain whisky, the type of whisky produced in the Clackmannanshire area, until the closures in 1983 & 1993 respectively. Clackmannanshire continues to be a global centre for whisky heritage and development with Diageo, one of the area’s major employers, having its European Technical Centre and Whisky Archive in the town of Menstrie, its Scottish cooperage operations at Cambus village and warehouse facilities at neighbouring Blackgrange, incidentally the largest warehouse complex in Europe with more than three-million casks held in bond. For a truly immersive experience, book your place at our Exclusive Whisky Showcase Event where you will have the opportunity to hear more about the heritage of production in the area and to sample a selection of whiskies from long since closed distilleries. This opportunity is very rare and guaranteed to sell-out fast.

At the heart of Clackmannanshire’s Whisky Festival is its support for men’s mental health awareness and wellbeing.  Using the event platform, the organising team, partners, sponsors, and exhibitors all help in the event’s efforts to promote the work of our male suicide prevention and loss support charity partner, Neil’s Hugs foundation. By attending the festival, attendees are also helping raise awareness and giving support to this vital work.

With three main festival sessions taking place as part of two-action packed days, Clackmannanshire’s Whisky Festival really is guaranteed to be both unique and very memorable. Tickets are on-sale now, simply choose your session from the selection above to view the different ticket package options available.

We look forward to seeing you there!.
